OVERVIEW

 

Certifications as a WOB (woman owned small business), a DBE (disadvantaged business enterprise), a WBE (women's business enterprise), and as a member of the WBENC (Women's Business Enterprise National Council), are in process.

TOR is a member of the Concord, Lafayette, Martinez, Pleasant Hill, and Walnut Creek, CA Chambers of Commerce, the Mt. Diablo Business Women, Concord Women in Business, the Better Business Bureau and Dun & Bradstreet.

To resolve business service needs by providing superior and innovative solutions that will effectively enable companies and government entities to achieve their objectives and increase their bottom line.

Our History

Balance Plus, Inc. was founded in 2004 by Cory McDade as a 100% woman owned small business to provide accounting and bookkeeping services to companies in need of outsourcing their financial work.  In 2006, Cory added Dane Pascoe, who brought a background in corporate communications. In 2007, the company moved in a significant new direction when it applied for and won a contract with Contra Costa County (California) to provide marketing and business development services for a local shopping center. The success of that project led to a much larger contract, requiring additional resources. That experience prompted the company to assemble an ad hoc team of local business professionals from various fields who are available to perform work as needed, on a contract basis.  In this way, effective January, 2009, Balance Plus, Inc. dba The Outsource Resource has positioned itself to provide a much greater range of services, and, as importantly, to take on much larger projects.

WHAT WE DO & HOW IT WORKS

 

It can accurately be said that The Outsource Resource is like a staffing agency, in that we help companies get work done when they don't have the staff or the required expertise to do it in-house. But there are some significant differences.

  We can work with businesses or government entities, regardless of location

  We work with the client to designate interim timelines and measurable project objectives

  We have project managers who oversee the job and ensure that your work is on track

  We ensure that the objectives have been met, at the conclusion of the project


We're also the opposite of the typical outsourcing firm. While we can provide business services to remote clients, we provide local Service Providers to local clients... with these advantages:

  They are familiar and comfortable with our client's language and cultural ways, and they work in the same time zone

  They are generally available to attend meetings at the client's work site, and to work onsite as required, as well as virtually

  They are at the top of their professions, typically have their own businesses, and choose to work as TOR Service Providers as well

 

In summary, clients don't "hire" The Outsource Resource - they partner with us to work with  our Service Providers in whatever way works best for them.
