What I didn't have either the time or the expertise to do was to set up my QuickBooks accounting system. I needed to know where I stood with my invoices - making sure that I stayed on top of the accounts receivables. I also needed to know where most of my time was going, so that I could tell if I was focusing on the services that are profitable for me. I contacted The Outsource Resource and told them what I wanted. They introduced me to one of their Service Providers and to a Project Manager. In our initial meeting, we laid out the objectives for the project. They were impressively systematic in the way they plan the work, which made it clear and easy to understand for me. Throughout the project, I always knew where we were in the process and where we stood in terms of reaching the project objective. We had a couple of "surprises" during the course of the work, but the Project Manager seemed to have anticipated everything. We made a slight course correction, and were right back on track in no time. As a result of the work done by The Outsource Resource, I now run my business more efficiently, because I have a better handle on it. This has given me the confidence to add some new services in the near future. I wouldn't have dared to do that before. June 22, 2009 I'm a Manager in the Workforce Development Group, Contra Costa County, California. A part of my responsibility is to coordinate the Layoff Aversion Project. In 2007, we issued a proposal to fund the study of a small, struggling shopping center in Pleasant Hill, CA, to learn what, if anything, could be done to stimulate business at the Center, thereby decreasing the potential need for the individual tenants to lay off employees. We awarded the contract to Balance Plus, Inc., (which is now dba The Outsource Resource). In this first year, they did a fantastic job of identifying the things that needed to be corrected, and they developed a very positive and productive relationship with the property manager, which led to a number of significant improvements being made to the facility. We extended their contract for a second year, during which time they did another great job - this time, creating an identity campaign for the Center. Based on our experience working with The Outsource Resource with the "trial" center, we have now awarded them a contract to do the same work with four other centers in Contra Costa County.
